Dear Maine Association of School Psychologists,
You are invited to participate in a research study examining internal psychological strengths and professional commitment among practicing school psychologists in public schools. This study is being conducted as part of a doctoral dissertation in the School Psychology Psy.D. program at Georgian Court University. The purpose of this study is to better understand how factors such as compassion satisfaction and psychological hardiness relate to affective professional commitment among school psychologists working in public school settings. Given the increasing demands placed on the profession, this research aims to contribute to knowledge that may inform future efforts to support professional well-being and retention.
Participation involves completing a brief, anonymous online survey that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is entirely voluntary and you may withdraw from the study at any time. No identifying information will be collected, and all responses will be kept confidential.
To be eligible, participants must be practicing school psychologists, be employed in a United States public school setting, and have completed at least one year of professional practice. Hello! I am conducting a research study that aims to examine how school psychologists can build competence for working with LGBTQIA+ students. If you are a licensed/certified school psychologist currently working in a k-12 school in the United States, your participation in this study is requested and greatly appreciated! Participation in this study involves filling out a survey, which will take between 10 and 20 minutes. After completing the survey, you will be given the opportunity to opt into a follow up interview, which will take between 30 and 60 minutes and will be conducted via zoom. Participants who complete both the survey and interview portions of the study will be entered into a drawing to receive one of six $25 tango gift cards. We are reaching out to invite you to participate in a brief needs assessment survey focused on school psychologists’ professional development and training needs related to autism assessment. As you know, school psychologists play a critical role in identifying and supporting autistic students. To better understand current practices, challenges, and areas where additional support may be beneficial, we are conducting a short survey to gather your perspectives. Your input will directly guide the development of a new professional learning opportunity that is under development.
We are the process of creating a new Project ECHO School Autism Assessment, a free telementoring initiative currently being developed by Drs. Maryellen Brunson McClain (Indiana University Bloomington), Micah Mazurek (University of Virginia), and Terisa Gabrielsen (Brigham Young University). The goal of this program is to expand access to expert-guided learning and collaborative case-based discussions to support high-quality autism assessment practices in school settings. I am conducting a dissertation study exploring students affected by adult or caregiver’s problematic substance use. The study examines school psychologists’ training related to this topic and their attitudes regarding their roles and responsibilities in supporting this population of students.You may be eligible to participate if you primarily work as a school psychologist in a school-based setting. Dear School Psychologists,
We are conducting a study to learn more about school psychologists’ knowledge and perceptions of autism, school psychologists’ evidence-based intervention beliefs and implementation, and organizational supports for autistic students. Participants will be asked to complete a brief survey. This study will assess the measures to determine school psychologists’ preparedness to support autistic students. Completing the study will take approximately 20 minutes.This study seeks to enroll 150 participants who are licensed school psychologists while excluding individuals who are school psychology graduate students and/or unlicensed school psychologists.There are no risks to participants greater than those ordinarily experienced or encountered in daily life or during the completion of routine psychological examinations or tests. The disclosure of information regarding the participants' employment is mitigated by the use of an anonymous survey procedure; no personally identifiable information will be matched with participant data for any reason. The findings may offer meaningful benefits to the broader field of school psychology and educational practice. By identifying school psychologists’ knowledge, beliefs, and implementation of evidence-based practices for autistic students, as well as the organizational factors that influence their ability to provide support, the study may inform future training, professional development, and resource allocation within school systems. The results may help districts, preparation programs, and policymakers better understand the needs of practitioners and the barriers they face, ultimately contributing to improved service delivery and outcomes for autistic students.
At the end of the study, participants will be redirected to another separate Qualtrics survey where they will be asked if they would like to enter the raffle for a random drawing to win one (1) of five (5) $50 Amazon gift cards. If participants choose to enter, they will be asked to enter an email. Following the completion of the research study, all names entered will be randomly selected. Winners of the drawing will be contacted via email to collect their electronic gift card. No physical gift cards will be sent.
